English summary:

This study deals with the phenomenon of the Year of Czech Music, an event which has taken place every ten years for over half a century, from 1954 to the present, with the exception of the years 1964 and 1994. The preconditions for this festival's creation are discussed in the first part. They include to some extent the Shakespeare Celebrations of 1863, further the General Land Centennial Exhibition of 1891, the Ethnographic Exhibition of 1895, the First Czech Music Festival of 1904, the Smetana celebrations of 1924, 1934 and 1944, the Musical Mays, and others. The article also outlines the basic form of the event's concept and discusses the possibility of its classification under the term festival.

The main part of the study focuses in separate parts of the text on each of the individual years between 1954 and 2014 in chronological order in an attempt to portray how the Year of Czech Music took shape over time and describe the variety of its forms, with particular emphasis on its beginning in 1954. The study also includes an extensive bibliography on the subject.

Studie pojednává o fenoménu Roku české hudby, akci, které se koná již přes půl století každých deset let od roku 1954 do současnosti s výjimkou let 1964 a 1994. První část textu se věnuje předpokladům pro vznik tohoto festivalu, za které lze do jisté míry považovat již shakespearovské slavnosti roku 1863, dále Zemskou jubilejní výstavu r. 1891, Národopisnou výstavu r. 1895, První Český hudební festival r. 1904, smetanovské oslavy r. 1924, 1934 a 1944, Hudební máje ad. Ve stati je též nastíněna základní podoba koncepce a rozebrána možnost zařazení akce pod pojem festival.

Hlavní část studie se věnuje chronologicky všem jednotlivým ročníkům mezi lety 1954 a 2014, jimž jsou věnované samostatné části textu ve snaze vykreslit, jak se postupně Rok české hudby formoval, a popsat jeho měnící se podobu, zejména však s důrazem na počátek v roce 1954. Součástí stati je též rozsáhlá bibliografie k tématu.
